Virtual Construction Manager, The Walsh Group

Dan Klancnik is responsible for implementing and directing The Walsh Group’s firm-wide strategy for building information modeling and virtual construction.  His duties include using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technology and processes to improve construction by identifying and solving problems, streamlining communication, and reducing waste.  He oversees a team that provides 3D communication visualizations, project planning and constructability reviews, 3D project coordination and interference management, visual scheduling, aids costing and estimating, coordinates field layout, and BIM services for facilities management. Dan also trains estimators, superintendents, and project managers on multiple CAD and BIM software platforms.

Mr. Klancnik has over 10 years of building industry experience, the past four years with The Walsh Group.  He is a regular industry speaker on BIM for groups such as Autodesk, Bentley, the AGC, and McGraw Hill.  His extensive experience covers multiple project types.
