Surety Indemnity Agreements: Foundations, Pitfalls, and Practice

Includes a Live Web Event on 11/11/2025 at 2:00 PM (EST)

Understanding and explaining indemnity agreements is essential for every surety professional. In this engaging NASBP Virtual Seminar, Nathan Wonder and Nick Benenati will unpack the purpose and structure of General Indemnity Agreements (GIAs), explore the distinctions between contract and commercial indemnity, and identify the provisions that most directly impact producers and clients. Attendees will gain a working knowledge of why GIAs matter, and how to clearly explain these agreements to clients and contractors. Using real-world examples and practical insights, this session will help surety professionals navigate indemnity discussions with greater confidence and credibility.
